Every year Manitoba Ag Days, one of Canada’s largest indoor farm shows, features an Inventors Showcase which highlights companies and individuals that are delivering innovative new products to the agricultural community.
With 12 other companies in the running, Welltraxx was awarded the second place in the 2012 Inventors Showcase with their web-based software solution that helps landowners more effectively manage their oil and gas holdings.
“It was a tremendous honour to be recognized at such a prestigious show,” said Welltraxx co-founder Casey Ziegler. “While we aren’t a traditional agricultural product, the judges recognized the value our program could deliver for those landowners who have oil and gas development on their land.”
Manitoba Ag Days generally attracts more than 30,000 visitors, many of whom are agricultural producers looking for new ideas and the latest technology available to them. With the province of Manitoba currently enjoying record oil and gas development, Welltraxx generated a lot of interest in the value it could deliver.
“For many landowners in Manitoba, they are dealing with oil and gas development on their land for the first time,” explained Ziegler. “Our program gives them a tool to help manage these important assets right from the beginning.”
